##Introduction The University of Africa, Toru-Orua (UAT), is a public university in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Established in 2016, UAT was founded with a mission to provide world-class education through a public-private partnership (PPP) model. It is designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry while promoting research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. ##Establishment and History UAT was established in 2016 by the Bayelsa State Government as part of an initiative to expand access to quality higher education. The institution was conceived as a specialized university that integrates academic excellence with practical, industry-focused training. The approval for its establishment was granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC), making it one of Nigeria’s youngest state universities. ##Vision and Mission The vision of UAT is to be a globally recognized university that fosters innovation, knowledge creation, and sustainable development.
