APPLICATION OF STATISTICAL QUALITY CONTROL ON PURE WATER PRODUCTION(A CASE STUDY OF EMPA TABLE WATER IGBANKE, EDO STATE)

ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION


This research work was intended to determine the proportion of defective items in the production process of Empa Table Water limited. The aim is to ascertain whether the process is in statistical control or not. The target population included all table water factories located in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo state. A representative sample from the frame of table water factories was selected using simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR) technique employing lottery method. Empa Table Water was selected and the data was collected from the record unit of the factory. In order to ascertain the aim of study, the p-chart was used to determine the state of production process. The result of the analysis shows that P = 0.0082685, Ucl = 0.009837, Lcl = 0.0067. The plotted P – chart reveals that the points were within the control,limits and as such, we concluded that the production process of Empa Table Water over the period under consideration was in statistical control.
