The amount of caffeine in beverages gained much attention in the recent time due to its various toxicological effects. However, limited data is available especially for store brands, energy drinks. With an aim of determining the caffeine level in some most and frequently consumed energy drinks around Ozoro, Delta State, Nigeria. This study considered four (4)different brands of such drinks. Quantification of caffeine was done by suiting a UV – Spectrophotometer. After this quantification, if was observed that Blue Bullet energy drinks had about 6.4mg/l, Power Horse energy drinks contained 6.8mg/l, Climax energy drinks contained 7.7mg/l while Monster energy drinks contained 6.8mg/l. through caffeine content in these drinks were low compared to those reported in literature as well as the standard limits. But a regular and excessive consumption can become harmful, as such regulations should be made to ensure these products arre safe for consumption by Government agencies.
