MATERIAL MANAGEMENT AS A TOOL FOR ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH(A CASE STUDY OF GUINESS NIGERIA PLC BENIN CITY)
ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION
This research work was carried out to investigate into the problems of material management and control, and how solution can be proffered to these problems so as to ensure profitability, growth and development in the future. As a positive step toward achieving the objective of the study, the survey research technique were used in which both the primary sources of data and secondary sources of data were employed. The questionnaire interview, observations, textbooks and other research work were employed in this regard. Furthermore, the tabulation and percentage method of analyzing collected data from respondents. During the research survey, the following were the finding; (i) the organization does not apply the scientific model of economic order quantity for the management finds it difficult to translate the model into practice (ii) there has been due authorization of stock movement. (iii) There has been physical check and stock to avoid misappropriation. In other to minimizing the problems of material management and control the organization should make use of economic order quantity (EOQ) techniques when placing others, he should also include restorage facilities to actualize the desire objectives.
