OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY OF SOME LOWER GLOBAL WARMING POTENTIAL REFRIGERANTS ON REFRIGERATING SYSTEM
ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION
The world is becoming more ecologically conscious and it has been discovered that the released free ions or CFCs into the atmosphere produces significant ozone depletion in the upper stratosphere. This research primary aim is to investigate dual evaporator vapor compression refrigeration system on R-744 and R-32 refrigerants reflecting the performance optimization of some factors variations on the system performance. The inlet temperature, and air mass flow in the condenser and that of the evaporator, and the air temperature was identify respectively. The developed mathematical model was tested for adequacy using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and other adequacy measures. ANOVA revealed that these regressions are statistically significant and the model fit preferably with a sufficiency indication of R 2 values of 0.9959 and 0.8964 for R 744 and R 32 respectively. The research revealed a strong relationship how the predicted COP values correlates with the actual values. The inlet air temperature of the evaporated was reported to have the highest influence on the COP. Also, the interactions of the variables were analysed using the response surface diagrams. Optimum combination setting of factors on R744 refrigirant gave a COP of 1.2700 during a reliability test while optimal combination of the four factors setting on R32 refrigerant from the reliability or confirmation test resulted in COP of 0.9876.
