PRODUCTION OF QUALITY BAR SOAP COMPARED WITH DETERGENT
ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION
Soap is commonly cleaning agent well known to everyone, soap is a cleaning agent manufactured in granules, bar, flakes or liquid from obtained through the reacting salts of sodium or potassium from the various fatty acid that of natures origin (salt of non-volatile fatty acid). When used for cleansing soluble part and grimes which can be separated from the particles being cleaned soap in hand washing as a surfactant, when lathered with a little soap kills microorganisms by disorganizing their membrane lipid bilayer and denaturing their proteins. In addition the heavy defense on synthetic chemical for soap production would drastically reduce if concerted effort is made on improving this locally source of material for soap making. It is therefore recommended that P. K. O (palm kernel oil) should be used in producing soap than olive oil because P. K. O have good quality than olive oil soap.
