The Python Programming Language was first released in 1991 and has a syntax that is very close to the English language.
But where exactly did the name come from? No!! It's not the snakes.
The language was created by Dutchman Guido van Rossum at the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) and at the time he was working on the language, he was also reading scripts from a 1970 BBC comedy series named "Monty Python's Flying Circus".
According to the Dutchman, he needed a name that was short, unique and at the same time, slightly mysterious so he called the language " Pyhton".
What is Monty Python's Flying Circus.
This is a Bristish comedy series created by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam who are nicknamed the "Pythons".
The fist episode was released on 5 October 1969.
